Gosh! Here we are at Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, a time to get one's act together in anticipation of Easter.
Today, we drove up to Jackson TN to have lunch with our old friends Harry and Joyce. Unfortunately, Charles and Ginger couldn't make it. At the last moment Ginger managed to get a bad cold and didn't want to share it with us. We had a good time just visiting. Harry has some serious problems with his computer - it will not find his CD or DVD drives!! I'm so out of the loop that I really couldn't offer much help other than to check the cable (both on the same cable and both out - sounded logical to me but alas, that wasn't the problem). It seems that he is having more than just these problems with the machine. Sounds bad!
On the way back, we found Randolph's Nursery over on highway 70. We went in looking for a particular pepper plant but were advised that we were way too early. So, we will have to check again later on in the spring. We saw this pepper plant in bloom over at the UT Ag. Research Center last summer and Anne Marie fell in love with it. It will look good out on our deck. A picture attached:
The berries go from a deep red to black. Thus the name is Black Pearl. The leaves are just as you see them - almost black. It is a stunning plant. Hope we can find a couple for the deck.
Scripture Study last night was a blast! Chapter 19 of Matthew's Gospel deals with, among other things, the subject of divorce. I had anticipated some lively discussion on this matter and I wasn't disappointed! Lively is putting it mildly! But, we survived and all are better off for the discussion.
We will be heading off to Mass tonight and get Lent started properly. Oh yes, I'm giving up Okra for Lent!!

Well, finally - a place I can give two cents and not have to remember a password (thus far). Love to read about your days. Amazed to see you limit the details. We all know Phil has an eye for details and opinions to follow up. ;) Think about you guys all of the time. Saw Tony's boys for the first time in forever; MY! is all I have to say about that. SMWL is having a retreat on 3.3.07 to learn about Jesus in his last week. For prep we are reading M. Lucado's "He Chose The Nails." Half through - a great book. Love you and Peace, Julieanna
